I have experience with CNC machines and 3D printers (plus I am a software developer by trade), so when looking for a laser I wasn't afraid to look around for options with a steeper software learning curve. But the whole ecosystem of xTool (conveyor, rotary, SafetyPro AP2) working together convinced me to take the plunge. My expectations were HIGH.
Let me tell you, dear reader, I cannot believe how easy this machine is to use. It took me about 30 minutes to properly unpack everything. Then I wanted to jump right in and start, so I grabbed a logo from a company I work with as a test. By preselecting materials from xTool's library I barely had to adjust anything. In about 20 seconds I had the pictured keychain engraved and I think it's beautiful!
I've now engraved coasters and jewelry and cups and every piece I work on is SO EASY. It really is an amazing tool and me and my family are building up a backlog of all the things we want to carve.
To be clear: I am not being paid to write this and other than xTool's generally-available holiday "sale" pricing, I received no discounts or freebies to try this system out. I just spent a ton of time looking for the right tool for my needs and feel like I've found it!
I am slow learning all the things I can do with my laser because there just is not documentation on the software (Creative Spaces). Watching videos is great but you only learn one thing at a time and have no idea all the things the software can do until you think to ask about it. Would be nice to know everything the software is able to do just so a person can know in the future and what they did not know. Other than that I love the Fi Ultra so far.
The first unit had an issue and xTool took care of it a sent me a new unit. The process took a few weeks to get it shipped back and turned around to me again. I had no out of pocket. Issues happened and xTool took care of it in a timely manner. Now that I'm up and running, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
F1 Ultra like all other lasers from xtool/make box far surpass all expectations. Keep it up.
I have been really impressed with this laser. I have owned multiple different lasers, even the F1, but this has been my favorite. Extremely easy to use and performs better than I expected.
